A heart-rending day for us when we read the news of beautiful Karen’s passing… and a way too young…
It’s also sad that we do not acknowledge often enough, all the achievements of our friends while they are still with us. This gracious, warm and vivacious woman gave everyone she met something special to remember her by…
We first met at the Leaside Skating Club in Toronto… Tammy, Debra and our sons Stefan and Paul figure skated together for many years while Karen and I, along with other board members, coped with the usual trials and tribulations of volunteering at a skating club, encouraging all the skaters through their tests… In those days… figures, dance and free… Busy, but fun days.
I clearly recognized Karen’s other many talents… She was not only a compassionate person, a great mother and loving and supportive wife but also an accomplished pianist and wonderful visual artist…
We’ll never forget the most perfect concert given by Andy with Karen accompanying him on the piano in our living room for Ingvar’s 50th birthday (26 years ago)… Also the world was lucky enough to enjoy the music of founding member Andy (Orford String Quartet)… with Karen always by his side…
May the closeness and caring that your family have held for each other give you comfort during these sad days… The music that has filled your life will continue to keep dearest Karen with you always…
With deepest sympathy and love, Sheila, Ingvar, Stefan and Paul
