I first met Karen forty-five years ago in the company of her husband Andy and her two young daughters. She was then both engaging and engaged, full of humour, optimism, energy and wisdom. Articulate about art, current affairs and family matters, she exuded a vibrancy that was contagious and highly individual. At the same time, she was a good listener and a most sensitive observer. Over four decades later, seated at our Christmas dinner table, that joie de vivre, compassion and engagement was as striking as ever….and that streak of colour in her hair, noted by others, topped off her signature presence. My family and I remember Karen with great admiration and affection and send our deepest sympathy to Andy, Debra, Adriana and their families.
